At the Intersection: Psychedelics and the Buddhist Path
- May 20, 2017
1:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Jack Kornfield will welcome guests and provide an introduction to the program before introducing the afternoon’s speakers who will lead us on an exploration of the intersection of psychedelics and the Buddhist path. As author Allan Badiner says, we will be zigging when others zag as we explore contrarian views on Psychedelics and Dharma, asking the question of whether psychedelics play a continuing role on the Buddhist path. This event is a celebration of the new edition of “Zig Zag Zen: Buddhism and Psychedelics” edited by Allan Badiner and Alex Grey for Synergetic Press. The afternoon will consist of readings, reports of current research, a roundtable discussion, and audience participation. Guest speakers will address such topics such as psychedelic medicine, philosophical & existential exploration, current findings of the scientific community as well as a more nuanced and slightly critical view of the place of psychedelics in healing the mind from suffering.
Special guests will include Jack Kornfield, Stanislav Grof, Rick Doblin, Ralph Metzner, Aurianna Joy, Don Lattin, James Fadiman, Erik Davis, Alex and Allyson Grey, Michael Stone and more.
